  10. The TCXL-DOS  6.02,  Programmer's  Power  Pak  2.02  and  TesSeRact  Developer's
  11. Workshop 1.02 updates are maintenance releases incorporating fixes for all known
  12. bugs since  the  release  of  TCXL  6.01,  PowerPak  2.01,  TCXL/Graphics  1.00,
  13. TCXL/Objects 1.00  and TCXL/Editor 1.00, as well as any other changes made since
  14. then.   For a complete listing of all these bug fixes and changes, see Tech Note
  15. TN-9209-002.

  17. The updates are delivered in a new format: as a series of executable files, each
  18. of which  automatically patches  various source  or library files.  In order for
  19. this patching process to work properly, and depending on what you have done with
  20. your version  6.00 files  since  installing  them,  you  may  have  to  do  some
  21. preparation before installing.  Follow the steps below to install your update.

  23. 1.   Restoring Files
  24.  
  25. If you  do not  have TCXL  6.01 or  PowerPak 2.01, get TN0601.ZIP and follow the
  26. instructions to update.
  27.  
  28. If you  have made NO changes to any source or header files since installing TCXL
  29. 6.01, Power Pak 2.01, or any of the interim updates, skip this step.
  30.  
  31. If you  have made  ANY changes to any source or header files since you initially
  32. installed TCXL  6.01 or  Power Pak  2.01, you  must restore  these files  to the
  33. original condition  of the  6.01/2.01 release.   The  best way  to do this is to
  34. simply reinstall  6.01 from  scratch.    You  do  NOT  need  to  re-install  the
  35. individual interim updates.

  39. 2.   Getting the Update
  40.  
  41. The names  of the  update file  are slightly  different depending on whether you
  42. obtain the files on disk or download them.
  43.  
  44. If you  are downloading  the update files, these are the names of the files that
  45. you will need:

  47.       IDC202.ZIP      Required for all updates!

  49.       TX602.ZIP       TCXL 6.02 update file.  This file is necessary
  50.                       for all TCXL and/or Power Pak updates.

  53.                       Power Pak updates.

  140. 3.   Installing the Update
  141.  
  142. ■    Copy all files into your TCXL root directory (by default, \TCXL60).  If you
  143. downloaded the  files, unzip  all the  files into  their  respective  executable
  144. files.  Make this your current working directory.
  145.  
  146. ■    Run UPD202.BAT
  147.  
  148. ■    Delete all  old libraries  from the  LIB subdirectory (i.e., all TCXL*.LIB,
  149. TADV*.LIB, TCMP*.LIB,  TFIL*.LIB, TPRN*.LIB,  TGRA*.LIB, TOBJ*.LIB and TEDT*.LIB
  150. files).

  152. ■    If using  the pre-assembled  OBJ modules,  UNZIP the  new OBJ-?? files into
  153. your TCXL   LIB  subdirectory, over-writing  the existing  ZIP files.   See  the
  154. README.OBJ file in each ZIP for more details.

  156. ■    Use SM  to rebuild the libraries.  For instructions on setting up and using
  157. SM, refer  to the  section on  SM ("Using  Programmer's Super-Maint") in the IDC
  158. Style Guide.

  162. 4.   Getting Precompiled Libraries
  163.  
  164. If you  would prefer  to get  the libraries pre-built from IDC on diskette, call
  165. our Technical  Support Department  at 215-443-9611  or FAX  215-443-9753.   Each
  166. diskette (one per product per compiler version) has a shipping and handling cost
  167. of  $5.00   for  shipments   within  the  United  States,  or  $8.00  for  other
  168. destinations, and  is shipped  by first  class  mail.    You  will  receive  all
  169. libraries for  all memory  models.   When ordering,  please specify  product and
  170. compiler.
